Whenever anybody feels down or out of luck and they need an escape from reality for just a short time, there’s nothing much better than watching a kick-ass movie with non-stop action. With a summer full of those movies, one of the top rated movies in the action-adventure genre to kick off this summer of 2011 is Fast Five. Starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Fast Five ReviewThis movie is called the Rio Heist; and it happens Mia and Brian O’Conner had rescued Domminick Torreto and they are now all fugitives so they went to hide in Brazil but since they all didn’t have money and jobs plus Mia had just get pregnant with Brian, they plan to take one last job (again) but things didn’t go well because the man who actually owns and runs the town is very powerful and they’re not only wanted by the United States government but also by the Rio thugs by Reyes’ men.

Fast Five finds Diesel and Walker reprising their roles as Domminick Torreto and Brian O’Conner. Torreto, a career criminal, and O’Conner, a former FBI agent turned criminal, reunite to pull of one last theft that will give them enough money to disappear together and live a quiet life in peace. Nevertheless, their plan is hindered by the fact that not only does a South American corrupt government want the duo dead, but a government agent is hot on their tail, looking to bring them to justice (Johnson).

This film is loaded with action, adventure, a fantastic story, and an all star cast which includes the names above, as well as Ludacris, Jordan Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, and many more. Aside from the films already epic story, the movie features some amazing action-sequences with stylish cars, as well as amazing fight scenes and gunfights. This film is not for the faint of heart, for there is literally not a single dull moment in this film, and the action just continues from one scene to the next. After a stunning opening weekend of $86 million and that has grossed to date $186 million, it is no wonder this film is already considered one of the best films of the summer.

Great thing they inserted this scene where the four of them had to take 4 police cars and it was Han, Roman, Brian and Dominic racing altogether in all Dodge charger cars and this was a nice scene because it shows how good a driver is because they all have the same car.

Another great part of the film is the exotic atmosphere and scenery of the film. Spanning across various parts of South America and the bustling city of Rio de Janeiro, the dark and yet beautiful atmosphere of the city seems to capture the feeling and nature of both the troubled characters and the film’s attitude as a whole. Between train jobs gone wrong, police chases down bustling city landscapes, and violent run-ins with drug lords, this film has everything a summer blockbuster could and should have.

Overall, this film deserves an A-, for it captured the essence of the film franchise perfectly, and the plot was as strong as the action and acting. More over, it proved that this film wasn’t just another number to add to the franchise, but a great, solid film done well by a great cast and crew.

Vin Diesel (born Mark Sinclair Vincent; July 18, 1967, in New York City, United States) is an American actor, writer, director and producer. Never knowing his biological father, he was told by his astrologer mother Delora (holder of a master’s degree in psychology) that he had a number of cultural roots – African-American, Italian and maybe Cuban, and others. “I’ve always had less information than I would like to have had“, he said later. Matters of identity were further confused by his twin brother, Paul Vincent, now a film editor, being blonde with blue eyes.

Bigger isn’t always better, but for anyone who enjoyed Pitch Black, a nominal sequel like The Chronicles of Riddick should prove adequately entertaining. Writer-director David Twohy returns with expansive sets, detailed costumes, an army of CGI effects artists, and the star he helped launch–Vin Diesel–bearing his franchise burden quite nicely as he reprises his title role. The Furian renegade Riddick has another bounty on his head, but when he escapes from his mercenary captors, he’s plunged into an epic-scale war waged by the Necromongers. A fascist master race led by Lord Marshal (Colm Feore), they’re determined to conquer all enemies in their quest for the Underverse, the appeal of which is largely unexplained (since Twohy is presumably reserving details for subsequent “chronicles”). With tissue-thin plotting, scant character development, and skimpy roles that waste the talents of Thandie Newton (as a Necromonger conspirator) and Judi Dench (as a wispy “Elemental” priestess), Twohy’s back in the B-movie territory he started in (with The Arrival), brought to vivid life on a vast digital landscape with the conceptual allure of a lavish graphic novel. But does Riddick have leadership skills on his resumé? To get an answer to that question, sci-fi fans will welcome another sequel. –Jeff Shannon

This was way back in October 2007 and it was McCarthy’s job to bring together every vehicle that would be seen on-screen in the fourth in The Fast and the Furious series. Sound easy? It wasn’t; there were going to be more than 200 of them. “Reading the script, it was obvious this was going to be bigger than Tokyo Drift,” said McCarthy, who had the same job on that third Fast/Furious film. “And a lot more of them were going to be ‘specialty cars’ that we’d have to build ourselves.” So despite having more than 60000 square feet of shop space to work in, Dennis McCarthy was already running out of room.
